The Police will attend isle of wight festival
The Police will attend the Isle of Wight Festival, so what you might think, but this Police is the reformed 80s supergroup The Police headed by Sting. The Police will close the 7th Isle of Wight Festival on 15th June 2008 in front of over 50,000 at the Best Major Festival in the UK according to the UK Festival Awards.
Festival Promoter John Giddings confirmed The Police will headline Sunday night and bring 2008’s Festival to a close, “It’s a coup to get The Police for the Festival, we’re very happy to have the biggest tour of the last two years stopping by the Isle of Wight.”
The Police reformed this year, touring the world, and they took in concerts at Twickenham Stadium London and Millenium Stadium Cardiff. The Isle of Wight Festival in 2008 will be their only UK Festival Perfomance.
The Police add to the steller list of acts who have graced the Seaclose Park, Newport site, acts such as The Who, Foo Fighters, Coldplay, and Rolling Stones have all wowed the Island.
The Isle of Wight Festival takes place 13th - 15th June at Seaclose Park, Newport, Isle of Wight
Tickets go on sale at 9am on December 10th 2007, Weekend Camping Tickets Cost £130.
