T in the Park Tickets 2008 go on sale REM to headline T in park festival

The T in the Park Festival takes place on the weekend of Friday 11th to Sunday 13th July 2008 - Baldo Kinross, T in the Park Headliners have been announced as REM, The Verve, and Rage Against The Machine,
T in the Park News 2008’s announcements are off to a blistering start…Brit-rock heroes The Verve are confirmed to headline the Main Stage on Friday night. Rage Against the Machine return to where it all began having played the first T in the Park in 1994…they headline the Main Stage on Saturday. The seminal REM arrive to headline the Main Stage on Sunday packing fresh material and will provide a fitting climax to T in the Park 2008.
This is just a taste of a line-up of awesome proportions…Kings of Leon play the Main Stage on Sunday, Kaiser Chiefs headline the Radio 1/NME Stage on Saturday and The Fratellis (Main Stage, Saturday) are all coming to T this year and they’re backed up by a massive musical wish list including Stereophonics, Prodigy and Chemical Brothers.
Says Festival Director, Geoff Ellis, “We’re delighted that the buzz surrounding T in the Park continues to grow. We strive to keep the line up fresh and exciting and continue to work with all our event partners to ensure that we offer the best festival experience possible for fans.
This year will see REM, Kings of Leon, The Verve and Rage Against The Machine take to T in the Park’s 11 stages alongside some of Scotland’s top talent from The Fratellis through Biffy Clyro to newcomers, Sergeant.
We look forward to welcoming the greatest audience in the world back to Balado in July and as always, I’d like to urge fans not to buy tickets from any unauthorised sources”.

Big news for Campers…
T in the Park’s inaugural event in 1994 saw just 2,000 weekend revellers camping at the Strathclyde Park site. In 2008, now in its fifteenth year, a staggering 60,000 campers will pitch-up to create Scotland’s 5th largest temporary town and, for the first time ever, organisers are delighted to be able to offer a limited number of T fans the opportunity to camp from Thursday 10th July.
Friday Gets Bigger….
Following Friday’s opening in 2007, festival organisers are again delighted to announce that the Main Arena is back on Friday 11th July. T in the Parkers will enjoy sets from artists on both the Main Stage, and now also the Radio 1/NME stage, which celebrates its fifth year outdoors in 2008. T in the Park reminds fans that only those in possession of a Weekend with Camping Ticket will have access to the festival arena on the evening of Friday 11th July.
