England take on New Zealand at home only a few months after playing them over in New Zealand. The first test starts this Thursday at the home of Cricket Lords.

England go into the series as favourites having triumphed in New Zealand in March.

They will also have fond memories of facing the Black Caps on these shores, a 3-0 series whitewash the result the last time New Zealand visited England.

However, Lord’s has not always been a happy home for England, and the visitors, boosted by the return of Daniel Vettori, Ross Taylor, Jacob Oram, Kyle Mills and the explosive Brendon McCullum from IPL duty, will fancy an upset.

Global Superclub brand Ministry of Sound are getting all chilled out with their latest album release. They are rejoicing 17 years of chilled out beat on their new album Ministry of Sound Chilled 1991 - 2008 out on 19th May 2008

One of my favourite radio shows at the moment is Kiss FM’s Rehab with Justin Wilkes, it is a great wind down on a Sunday Mornign after a heavy session the night before.

Well the latest ministry of sound album is like the playlist from that radio show, all the biggest downtempo tunes, and the leaders in the chill genre are present on this triple cd, including Lemon Jelly, A Man Called Adam, Bent and Sebastian Tellier.

The album starts with the seminal classic ‘Little Fluffy Clouds’ Royksopp’s by the orb, also on the album are down tempo remixes of Everything But The Girl ‘Missing’, Jakatta ‘American Dream’, William Orbit ‘Barbers Adagio’, The Avalanches ‘Since I Left You’, Jose Gonzales ‘Heartbeats’ and Mylo ‘In My Arms’ to name just a few. My all time favourite Chill tune The The Beloved’s ‘Sweet Harmony’ is also on there.

New Blackberry Phone Called Blackberry Bold announced

Blackberry have announced a new Blackberry today called the Blackberry Bold, It will be the first Blackberry to have 3G installed, to take advantage of near broadband download speeds. The new Blackberry will be competition for the Iphone.

I have always held off buying a Blackberry as they did not have 3G, so I am sure this phone will be in huge demand

The press release from Blackberry stated

Research In Motion Ltd. on Monday introduced its first major new BlackBerry model in more than a year: the Bold, a high-end model that further demonstrates the company’s desire to make tools for both work and play.

The Bold, or 9000, has twice the screen resolution of the current Curve model, making for a very sharp display. It matches the resolution, but not the size, of the screen on Apple Inc.’s iPhone, which has emerged as a potent competitor in the “smart phone” category.

AT&T Inc. on Monday said it would be the exclusive U.S. carrier for the Bold.

It also has much more internal memory, a glossy metallic look, and adds corporate-strength Wi-Fi capabilities to third-generation cellular and Bluetooth radios.

Otherwise it stays close to the formula of the Curve, with a horizontal screen above a trackball and a keyboard with one letter per key.

Waterloo, Ontario-based RIM didn’t announce a price for the Bold, nor agreements with specific carriers. It said the phone would be available from various carriers this summer.

AT&T is the only U.S. operator with a cellular broadband network compatible with the initial Bold model. Later versions could work on the Sprint Nextel Corp. and Verizon Wireless networks, according to RIM co-chief executive Mike Lazaridis.

Like the Curve and the Pearl, BlackBerry’s consumer-oriented phones, the Bold has a full-size headset jack and a camera that can also capture video. At the same time, it has dual-band Wi-Fi, a feature previously only found on a model aimed at the corporate market.

The Bold will also have exchangable back plates in different colors, a first for a BlackBerry.

RIM also was set to announce a $150 million fund that will invest in companies creating software for BlackBerrys and other mobile devices. The Royal Bank of Canada and Thomson Reuters are co-investors.

The BlackBerry Partners Fund will be managed by JLA Ventures and RBC Venture Partners.

The move echoes Apple’s March announcement that it would set up a $100 million “iFund” for the development of iPhone and iPod Touch applications

Babyshambles have acted quick following the early release of Pete Doherty’s
from prison yesterday. The group fronted by Doherty have confirmed a last minute
show at London’s Kentish Town Forum on May 13th 2008. It has also been confirmed
that Dohertys solo show at the Royal Albert Hall will now take place on July
12th 2008.
The Babyshambles show at the forum is to celebrate Dohertys release from prison
it is being touted as his prison gig.
