The COACHELLA VALLEY MUSIC & ARTS FESTIVAL is back bigger and better for 2008. More commonly known as the Coachella Festival.
Coachella 2008 takes place on Friday, April 25, Saturday, April 26 and Sunday, April 27 at Empire Polo Field in Indio, California..
The line up was announced last week and the highlights include Roger Waters who will do the full dark side of the moon album. Bristol band Portishead who are one of the pioneers of down-tempo electronic music with distinct hip-hop, jazz and dub influences that came to be known as Trip Hop. The Verve, Kraftwerk and super star DJ Fatboy Slim will all play in the dessert. The Streets and even 80s ska faves Madness will be performing. Check out full coachella festival line up

Background to Coachella Festival
The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival (commonly known as Coachella) is a three-day (formerly a one or two-day) annual music and arts festival held at the Empire Polo Fields in Indio, California. The event features many genres of music including alternative rock, hip hop, and electronica as well as large sculptural art. The event has several stages/tents set-up throughout the grounds, each playing live music continuously. The main stages are: Coachella Stage, Outdoor Theatre, Gobi Tent, Mojave Tent, and the Sahara Tent (2006 also saw the addition of a smaller Oasis Dome).
The Coachella Music Festival has a desert setting (the city of Indio is a part of the Colorado Desert), with daytime temperatures frequently rising to over 100°F (38°C). The festival enjoys little cloud cover or shade. The temperature drops drastically after sunset.
